Shuttle's XPC mini X100 March 09, 2006
Shuttle's XPC mini X100 is their move into markets beyond the Cube design to a smaller form factor. The X100 packs an Intel Core Duo T2400 processor, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 3D-graphics accelerator on upgradable MXM module, SATA II 3.5in hard disk, and slimline slotloading optical drive into a package approximately A4 paper sized (210 x 297mm) and 53.5mm high.

On the rear of the X100 we found a DVI connector; power socket; power switch; Gigabit Ethernet socket; S/PDIF output; S-Video out; three 3.5mm audio jacks; Firewire and 4 x USB 2.0 ports. The power switch on the front above the 4 in 1 card reader is in fact a suspend switch, betraying the intended use of the X100 as an MCE machine. We don't expect the X100 to be available in component form (and the board isn't Mini-ITX form factor), but we can't help ourselves - we like ultra-small PCs.

Two colours were on display at CeBIT. This is the greyer of the two. We are told the final version may well be a shade darker...
