Configure your sound output
Parts of this page are specific to the Zotac ION range of motherboards. Other motherboards may be configured differently.
The correct cable to connect to your sound device. This might be a co-axial or digital S/PDIF cable, a HDMI cable or perhaps a 3.5mm speaker cable.
This section assumes you wish to connect the sound output of your ION motherboard to either your television, your Dolby Digital Receiver or your PC speakers (or headphones). There are 4 different outputs that can be used on the Zotac ION motherboards as shown in the picture below:
How to configure each output
1. From the XBMC Home page, use your Up-Arrow and Down-Arrow keys to select SYSTEM. Press Enter.
2. Select SYSTEM again from the SETTINGS menu.
3. Now choose the AUDIO OUTPUT section. Simply use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys to choose the item and hit enter to cycle the options. To make things easier we have created screenshots of each setting:
Analog Output is the default and should be as follows
Dolby Digital/DTS via S/PDIF (AC3) should be like this
Dolby Digital/DTS via HDMI should be like this
Audio Output Device
Passthrough Audio Device
Dolby Digital/DTS/Digital Stereo (S/PDIF)
Through Television or HDMI Amplifier/Receiver
* If your television or amplifier do not support
DTS, simply de-select the "DTS Capable Receiver" option.
