Notes: A 'Fanless' speed refers to a fanless board version. A 'Fan' figure is the heatsink/fan version. IDE is IDE slots - you can fit 2 IDE devices to one slot with appropriate cabling. A pair of power consumption figures refers to both versions. Power consumption figures are manufacturer's published figures. Actual power consumption will depend on power supply type and efficiency. Allow at least +10W for an AC Adapter/DC Converter PSU (e.g. PicoPSU and most of our case PSUs) and +30W for an ATX PSU. For example an EPIA EN 15000 and 3.5in HDD might draw 29W under load with a PicoPSU, but 47W with an ATX PSU. Full case compatibility given in our case compatibility table.

Don't forget you can install Vista from a USB key very easily!
Suitable cases (without PSU): The following enclosures come without an internal PSU and are fully compatible with the ION-ITX-A: M350 (highly recommended - currently available in a bundle), VoomPC , VoomPC 2 . Note: VoomPCs are not provided with a power switch.

Important! This board has a DC Power input and is not designed for use with a standard ATX PSU: The ION-ITX-C is provided with a 90W AC Adapter which powers the board directly and feeds power to up to 3 other devices through an on-board male Molex connector. We sell several enclosures without power supplies, or you can bypass the PSU on any other compatible Mini-ITX case. 90W is enough to power 3x HDDs or Slimline Optical Drives*, but we *do not* recommend powering a full size optical drive.
Powering devices: A cable with female Molex to 3x SATA power connectors is provided, suitable for powering up to 3x SATA 2.5in or 3.5in HDD/SSD. Other devices (including PATA/SATA slimline optical drives and CF cards) will require additional cables. Please use the cables linked on the left, or email before ordering. Don't forget you can install Vista from a USB key very easily!
Suitable cases (without PSU): The following enclosures come without an internal PSU and are fully compatible with the ION-ITX-C: M350 (highly recommended - currently available in a bundle), VoomPC, VoomPC 2. Note: VoomPCs are not provided with a power switch.
Partially compatible cases (without PSU): M200, M300, M200-LCD, M300-LCD include IDE CF Adapters which cannot be used - these boards only have SATA ports.
Suitable cases (with PSU): The following enclosures have a PSU which can be bypassed and are compatible with the ION-ITX-C: Nexus Psile, Venus 669, Compucase 8K01, Compucase 8K07, Silverstone SG05 and Jou Jue NU-528i, NAS Chassis, 1U rackmount, C158, Thin Client, Compact Wall Mount, Cubid cases and any other Mini-ITX cases should work - the ION-ITX-B has a standard sized heatsink.
Note: ION-ITX-C Rev 2 now supports wake-on-USB (from 28th July). The ION-ITX uses DDR2 memory. This is not compatible with DDR memory. Fully tested DDR2 DIMMs are available here.

Please Note: The EPIA SN is the first EPIA to feature PCI-Express, which is not backwards compatible with PCI. Cases that support PCI through a riser card will NOT be compatible with PCI-Express. Please also consider power consumption if using a PCI-E graphics card to prevent power supply damage.
