AV250 Short Depth 1U Mini-ITX AV Chassis

The AV250 is a unique, limited production run 1U Mini-ITX Rackmount Chassis with a selection of 11 AV connectors on the front and rear. 3x HDMI, 4x USB, 2x 3.5mm Audio and 2x Ethernet.

Construction: Heavy duty cold-rolled steel, silver finish.

Front Panel: Power Switch, System Reset, 2x USB 3.0 Type A Connectors. Power LED, HDD and 2x LAN Activity LEDs. HDMI port and 3.5m Audio Socket.

Back Panel: 8mm hole for DC power entry, 2x RJ45 Ethernet Sockets, 2x HDMI Sockets, 2x USB 2.0 Sockets, 1x 3.5mm Audio Socket.

Measurements: 250 x 482.6 x 44mm (9.8 x 19 x 1.75in)​. Volume: 5.31 litres.

Powering the AV250: The AV250 is designed to be powered using a picoPSU and External AC Adapter. If using a socket board, select the picoPSU-150-XT and 150W External AC Adapter. If using a Celeron or similar Embedded board, use the picoPSU-90 and 80W External AC Adapter. The picoPSU-160-XT and M3-ATX are too tall to fit inside the AV250.

Internal Cabling: Each of the external sockets has an internal cable ("tail") that can connect to your Mini-ITX motherboard. The sockets and connectors are: 2x RJ45 Ethernet; 3x HDMI; 2x USB 2.0; 3x USB 3.0; 2x 3.5mm Audio.

Storage: The AV250 is designed to be used with a board with on-board storage (e.g. M.2 or mSATA). A standard 2.5in SATA drive can be fitted internally where the cables are bundled though there are no specific mounting points. Cable ties or sticky pads could be used to secure a 2.5in drive.

Cooling: The case is highly vented, with venting holes front, rear and in the top of the case.

Compatible Motherboards: We suggest using boards with ATX power connectors, combined with a picoPSU. DC-input boards not recommended but could be used if the DC-input hole was widened. Socket motherboards must have a removable IO shield, and not have components that are too tall for a 1U chassis.

Compatible Processors: The picoPSU-150-XT is the largest PSU that fits inside the chassis, giving a peak power of slightly less than 150W. We suggest an i3 processor, or a 'G' AMD processor. Ask us for advice before purchasing if unsure. It is also possible to disable Turbo Boost to reduce power consumption.

Processor Cooling: We have a wide range of 1U compatible coolers available, for most socket types. If using for AV applications, we suggest a top venting cooler if possible as these generally run quieter.

Reversible Design: The AV250's Rack Ears can be fitted to either the front or the rear of the chassis.

Rails: Suitable 20in sliding rails can be found here (the built-in rack ears are often sufficient).

PCI Cards: No PCI Cards are supported.
