It attaches like so..

Then the whole thing was disassembled and given a final coat of clear lacquer.

Here it is after being re-assembled.

Then it was time to start fitting in the goodies!

From this bottom view, you can see the ME-6000 Eden mainboard on the right hand side.

Here is the amplifier which is a 7 Watt TDA chip running from the 12V rail of the Morex power supply. The board underneath is the interface I contracted which allows the LCD, front panel buttons and the infra-red receiver to be combined into one serial RS-232 connection.

Here is a better view of the interface. You can see the 2 16f84 PIC micro processors, one is used to convert serial data into 16bit info for the LCD, and the other is used as a keypad decoder, with a total of 12 possible buttons (i'm only using 4 on the radio front panel). The third micro is a 12c509 in the middle which is the Infra-red Decoder. Then are combined transmission of the IR and Keypad is done using a OR gate which is the chip right in the middle.

Here is another back view showing the speaker and Eden processor heat sink. The RAM just fits in next the the speaker with no room to spare!

The CF (compact flash) card is mounted under the mainboard along with the Morex power supply.
