M3-ATX Timing Settings

The M4-ATX is a wide input (6-30V) vehicle or general purpose battery powered application DC-DC ATX power supply capable of surviving tough car engine cranks (down to 6V) as well as transient over-voltage situations. The M4-ATX is programmable by DIP Switches and by USB and can control the ON/OFF switch of a motherboard based on ignition status.

The M4-ATX has user selectable microcontroller driven timing modes allowing you to choose up to 8 ignition/shutdown timing schemes (including a regular PSU mode, when the M4-ATX behaves just like a regular ATX PSU). While in deep sleep mode, the M4-ATX can constantly monitor your battery voltage levels, automatically shutting down until battery levels reach safe levels.

Programmable by USB: The M4-ATX can be connected to a USB header on a PC and monitored/programmed with the Windows System Tray Monitor & Application or through a Linux API.

The DCDC-USB is a 135 x 37mm high power buck-boost microcontroller DC-DC converter. This unit accepts any 6-34V regulated or non-regulated input, and can output up to 100W at 12V, or at any voltage between 5-24V.

The output of the DCDC-USB is 12V regulated by default, and can be changed using simple jumper settings to 5V, 6V, 9V, 12V, 13.5V, 18V or 24V or via a USB cable anywhere from 5-24V in 0.25V increments.

The DCDC-USB can be used to power motherboards with single rail power input from any voltage, or to convert any voltage ranging 6-34V to any output from 5-24V. A DCDC-USB can be placed in-line with a standard picoPSU to provide a wide input range to a standard motherboard.

Additional Cables: To power a Mini PC or Board with 12V 2.5/5.5mm input (e.g. all JBC units, and some 12V Thin-ITX), use the "P4 to 2.5/5.5mm DC Plug OUTPUT Cable". To power from one of our AC Adapters, use the "P4 to 2.5/5.5mm DC Barrel INPUT Cable". Both can be found in the "you may also require" section.

The DCDC-USB has 4 modes of operation:

• Dumb mode: Regular buck-boost DC-DC converter with wide (6-34V) input producing a fixed 12V or 5-24V output
• Automotive: Acts as an intelligent ignition aware PSU - will send ON/OFF pulse to the motherboard when ignition is turned. Very low standby power consumption (under 1mA).
• UPS mode: Acts as an intelligent UPS unit, shutting down at prescribed battery voltages.
• Scripted mode: The DCDC-USB can be programmed to wake up and sleep based on pre-programmed scripts.

The DCDC-USB-200 is a high power buck-boost microcontroller DC-DC converter measuring just 160 x 45 x 23mm. This unit accepts any 6-34V regulated or non-regulated input, and can output up to 150W (180W peak) at 12V, or at any voltage between 5-24V.

Splitter cable converts one Molex HDD connector into two, allowing you to power additional devices.

Please consider the total load on your system when adding devices.

Most PSUs (including all the PSUs on Mini-ITX Cases we sell) come with standard 4-pin Molex connectors for connection to IDE ATA Hard Drives.

To power a Serial ATA drive from one of our cases, you will require this adapter cable.

Use this cable to add an additional 2x SATA power connectors to any power supply with a spare Molex HDD connection.

If more SATA connections are required please use the 2x Molex HDD Power Splitter cable above to provide more Molex HDD connectors.
