Important! This board has a DC Power input and is not designed for use with a standard ATX PSU: The ION-ITX-A is provided with a 90W AC Adapter which powers the board directly and feeds power to up to 3 other devices through an on-board male Molex connector. We sell several enclosures without power supplies, or you can bypass the PSU on any other compatible Mini-ITX case. 90W is enough to power 3x HDDs or Slimline Optical Drives*, but we *do not* recommend powering a full size optical drive.

Powering devices: A cable with female Molex to 3x SATA power connectors is provided, suitable for powering up to 3x SATA 2.5in or 3.5in HDD/SSD. Other devices (including PATA/SATA slimline optical drives and CF cards) will require additional cables. Please use the cables linked on the left, or email before ordering. Don't forget you can install most Operating Systems from a USB key very easily!

Suitable cases (without PSU): The following enclosures come without an internal PSU and are fully compatible with the ION-ITX-A: M350 (highly recommended - currently available in a bundle), VoomPC, VoomPC 2. Note: VoomPCs are not provided with a power switch.

Partially compatible cases (without PSU): M200, M300, M200-LCD, M300-LCD include IDE CF Adapters which cannot be used - these boards only have SATA ports.

Suitable cases (with PSU): The following enclosures have a PSU which can be bypassed and are compatible with the ION-ITX-A: Nexus Psile, Venus 669, Compucase 8K01, Compucase 8K07, Silverstone SG05 and Jou Jue NU-528i, NAS Chassis

Unsuitable/untested cases: Lower profile cases cannot accommodate the slightly larger heatsink of the ION-ITX-A, e.g. 1U Rackmount and Low Profile Media Case. Many cases are currently untested and may not work, including Travla C158, Thin Client, Compact Wall Mount and all Cubid cases. Please wait for us to update this section or email if you are unsure.

Notes: ION-ITX-A Rev 2 now supports wake-on-USB (from 28th July 2009). The ION-ITX uses DDR2 memory. This is not compatible with DDR memory. Fully tested DDR2 DIMMs are available here.

Suitable cases: The ION-ITX-F has a slightly taller heatsink once the (non optional) fan is connected so 1U cases will not work. The M350 will work, but with only one HDD. Also compatible: Lockable Wall Mount Case, Mini Skeleton, ISK300, Jou Jye 528i 73W and 220W, Psile, Noah 3988. The board does not have an IDE port, so IDE devices in cases will not work (e.g. CF reader on M200, M200-LCD, M300, M300-LCD). Not all cases can take advantage of the PCI Express slot.

*Note: Non-optional 60mm fan included in package. Zotac decided to exclude the fan in their publicity photos.

The ION-ITX-G has 4x SATA so is particularly suitable for use with chassis supporting 4x HDD (Chenbro ES34069, TE-1160). The board does not have an IDE port, so IDE devices in cases will not work (e.g. CF reader on M200, M200-LCD, M300, M300-LCD). Not all cases can take advantage of the PCI Express slot.
