VIA Dual PCI Riser Card

Long Lead Time

This 2 slot riser card from VIA will let you use two PCI cards with your EPIA motherboard. The riser faces the PCI cards away from the motherboard and is not reversible. If you are considering using 2 high bandwidth PCI devices (e.g. PVR and VGA cards), consider the active riser card below (read compatibility notes below first).

Notes: Dual Risers only work with certain chipsets and motherboards. These Dual Risers are designed for boards with VIA C3 / C7 chipsets (i.e. most EPIA / Jetway boards), and with Intel Atom motherboards. To use with an Intel Atom board: put the IRQ jumper on the lower row, 3rd pair from the left. Untested / not compatible with other socket based Intel / AMD motherboards. We cannot guarantee compatibility with dual risers and all products.

Measures 110 x 45mm. The upper PCI socket is 47.8mm above the motherboard, and the lower socket is 27.8mm above the motherboard. You can use these cards in your own projects, and the Travla C137 cases (with a riser extender - see below), other cases do not have enough space inside, or have their own custom risers included.

Active Dual PCI Riser Card

This 2 slot active riser card contains a fast switching logic array for improved compatibility and full bandwidth switching of PCI devices, but is physically the same size as the VIA dual risers.

We recommend the VIA Dual Risers for EPIA SP boards, and for better compatibility when using 2 tuner cards.

Notes: Dual Risers only work with certain chipsets and motherboards. These Dual Risers are designed for boards with VIA C3 / C7 chipsets (i.e. most EPIA / Jetway boards). Not compatible with Atom boards. Untested / not compatible with other socket based Intel / AMD motherboards. Not physically compatible with the 2799/2755 cases. We cannot guarantee compatibility with dual risers and all products.

Setting device numbers: The lower slot is the same device number as the motherboard (DN20), and the upper slot can be set from DN12-DN19 (DN19 is the default).

Travla C137 Dual Riser and Extension Card

This dual riser card and riser card extension allows the use of two PCI cards with the Travla C137 case. VIA motherboards come with a special BIOS allowing them to share the IRQ on a single PCI Slot.

How PCI Cards fit inside a C137

The height of the hard drive chosen and depth of the bottom PCI card affects what combinations of PCI cards are possible. We've modified a Travla diagram to try to explain!
