Our own Mini-ITX compatible 1U case is constructed from Heavy-duty pre-plated SPGC cold-rolled steel, and was designed from the start to be as quiet, energy efficient and flexible as possible. The C2-RACK is by far the quietest and flexible rackmount we sell and supports multiple HDDs.

Suitable for all Mini-ITX motherboards - boards with onboard processors with standard height heatsinks and boards with socket processors with low profile heatsinks can be fitted. The C2-RACK has flexible additional cooling and a very quiet and efficient 300W switching 110-240V power supply.
High Density: The C2-RACK is capable of a very high storage density: Up to 10 bootable devices can be fitted internally. 5x 4TB 3.5in drives would give 20TB of disk space, and still allow room for a fast SSD boot drive.
Front Panel: Re-configurable panel to the left of the optical bay is provided with 2x USB 2.0 sockets and can be fitted with a blanking plate or optional Serial port. The right switch assembly consists of 3x Warning LEDs, 2x LAN LEDs, 1x HDD LED, 1x Power LED, Recessed Reset Switch, Flush Membrane-style Power Switch and 1x USB 2.0 Socket.
Mounting: The C2-RACK can be mounted directly using just the front ears using the Spring Mounted Cage Bolts or the provided Cage Nuts. For added stability in a 600mm deep rack, use the Fixed rear mounting brackets. For flexibility in a 600mm to 800mm deep rack, use the 20in sliding rails.
Dimensions: 427mm (16.81in) wide to fit in a standard 19in rack. 43.6mm (1.72in / 1U) high. Just 425.4mm (16.75in) deep. 7.92 litres volume.
Multiple, Re-configurable Drive Bays: The C2-RACK-V4 has 4x 2.5in / 3.5in HDD Bays, an additional 2x 2.5in or 1x 3.5in HDD Bay if the PCI/PCI-E slot is not used, 1x Slimline Optical (or additional 2.5in HDD) Drive Bay and 2x Internal USB 2.0 Sockets. The following combinations are possible:
- Up to 6x 2.5in drives, 1 Optical drive (or additional 2.5in HDD) and 2 internal USB sticks without a PCI/PCI-E card fitted
- Up to 5x 3.5in (or 2.5in) drives, 1 Optical drive (or additional 2.5in HDD) and 2 internal USB sticks without a PCI/PCI-E card fitted
- Up to 4x 3.5in (or 2.5in) drives, 1 Optical drive (or additional 2.5in HDD) with a Standard Length PCI/PCI-E card (up to 195mm). 2 additional internal USB sticks can be fitted if PCI/PCI-E card is under 170mm
- Up to 3x 3.5in (or 2.5in) drives with a Extended Length PCI/PCI-E card (195mm to 370mm). 2 additional internal USB sticks can be fitted if PCI/PCI-E card is narrow width
- Up to 3x 3.5in (or 2.5in) drives with a Extended Length PCI/PCI-E card (370mm to 395mm), with blank re-configurable front panel plate fitted. 2 additional internal USB sticks can be fitted if PCI/PCI-E card is narrow width

Optical Drives: A selection of Slimline Optical Drives can be fitted. If a SATA port is spare then a Mini-SATA cable can be used. If no SATA port is available then our USB Header Mount Kit can be used with no significant loss in drive speed. If no drive is fitted a blanking plate covers the front panel as standard.
Double Width, Long Length PCI/PCI Express Support: PCI and PCI Express cards to to 395mm in length are supported, with the appropriate riser card. Double Width cards with Single Slots will fit though must of course be adequately powered and ventilated.
If PCI or PCI Express cards longer than 170mm are fitted the internal USB can be moved to the alternate mounting position on the inside of the case (when using narrow PCI/PCI-E cards) or mounted loosely inside the case (when using wider PCI/PCI-E cards).
Re-configurable Front Panel: The re-configurable front panel is supplied in place with 2x USB 2.0 ports, with a plate with a cut-out for a DB-9 Serial port and a blank plate in the standard accessory pack. The blank plate can be used when a front panel connector isn't required or if a PCI/PCI-E card longer than ~370mm is fitted. Serial ports for the front panel and rear PCI/PCI-E slot position are available separately. Other connectors are possible - please email us with your ideas or for details.
Near-Silent Power Supply: The C2-RACK features a very high quality 80-PLUS certified 300W PSU, which can accept any AC voltage from 110-240V. The PSU is near-silent and has the following outputs: 1x 20/24pin ATX Power, 1x P4 12v Power, 6x SATA Power, 1x Molex, 1x Floppy, 4x FAN Power Headers. The PSU is available separately and can be retro-fitted into our C1-RACK chassis.
Flexible, Expandable Cooling: The C2-RACK is supplied with 2x 40x40x20mm, 6.3 CFM @ 5200 RPM, 18 dBA ball bearing fans fitted in easy-remove fan brackets. Up to 2 more fans can be fitted. All fans can be powered directly from the internal PSU or from spare motherboard headers. 1U Compatible heatsinks are available for socket motherboards.

Fan Controller Support: Our own fan controller with temperature probe and support for 1-4 fans will be available for the C2-RACK-V4 in Q3 2013. Fan speeds are slowed when temperatures are low and an audible alarm sounds if a fan fails.
Re-brandable: Optional re-branding plate can be fitted over our stamped logo on the rear and printed with your own logo or internal asset or product number (new version 4 feature)
Supported boards: Embedded Mini-ITX boards with ATX connectors and standard height heatsinks; Socket Mini-ITX boards with <30mm 1U heatsinks.
Recommended Low Power Consumption Atom boards: The D2500HN is an excellent value board that fits the C2-RACK. The Jetway JNC9KDL-2550, JNF9D-2550 and JNF99-525 support multiple LAN sockets. Most of these boards are available as part of our C2-RACK bundles.
Recommended Socket boards: The Gigabyte GA-H61-D2V and GA-H87-WiFi are popular boards that work very well with the C2-RACK. Processors higher than 35W TDP will require a low profile heatsink such as the Dynatron K2. Due to the near-silent nature of the C2-RACK, additional fans may be required for Socket motherboards.
Unsupported boards: Only a small number of Mini-ITX boards have a larger than normal heatsink that will not physically fit into a 1U chassis, e.g. (now discontinued) Zotac ION with heatsink and fan. If using a Socket motherboards with a heatsink taller than 30mm simply use a 1U compatible heatsink.
Backplates: Backplates are not required to mount motherboards securely but do reduce dust ingress at the rear of the case. We now can supply our Universal Backplate design which will fit any motherboard, and requires cutting with metal snips. Version History: Version 4 update adds additional 2.5in drive bay position in optical bay, longer spring mounted cage bolts and new re-branding plate option on rear. Version 3 update added extended length PCI/PCI-E card support (up to 395mm!), and our unique re-configurable front panel design.

Universal backplate design for C1-RACK, C2-RACK and C3-RACK chassis only. This backplate can be cut to fit any motherboard IO shield design.
How to use: Fit backplate into case. The screw holes and metal tabs will align if correctly positioned. Place motherboard in position, offset slightly until backplate is cut. Mark location of motherboard IO shield components onto backplate (pencil or dry wipe marker recommended). Remove backplate and cut using using strong metal snips. Fit backplate and motherboard into position.
Custom backplate designs: We have designs for many different motherboards available. We may have one for your motherboard already - check the list on any of the C1-RACK, C2-RACK or C3-RACK chassis pages first before ordering the universal backplate.

Dynatron K2 Low Profile, 27.8mm High Side Blower Cooler suitable for fitting Intel Socket 1150, 1151, 1155 and 1156 motherboards with up to 73W TDP processors into a 1U Chassis.
Long life two-ball bearing fan draws the cool air though the fins and extracts hot air to one side to support chassis airflow. Intel approved push pins provide maximum compatibility. Pre-applied high performance TIG830SP thermal compound ensures clean and easy installation.
Case Compatibility: Side Blower design suitable for use in a 1U chassis. Tip: angle the K2 to force air out of the rear of the chassis.
Compatible motherboards: All Socket 1150, 1151, 1155 and 1156 Mini-ITX Motherboards with up to 73W TDP Processor fitted.
