The original plan was to use a standard size HDD, but there were problems trying to close the case up. In the end a laptop HDD was used due to size restrictions. The laptop hard drive was connected to the IDE cable with a converter. There were a variety of methods to hold the HDD, one being an aluminum rectangle but it was realized it would restrict airflow. In the end some C-channel was used running from the front to back of the case with the HDD screwed on.

To hold the motherboard face plate, aluminum sheet was shaped into a rectangle and spray painted black. This was then compressed against the motherboard when the back face was finally closed.

A lot of the wiring need to be neaten with cable ties to prevent them from hitting the fans. Notice in above photo the HDD and cold cathodes on the edges, the two invertors were hot glued under the DVD rom drive. One thing that had to be done was the soldering of four extra molex connectors onto the original single one.
