As a response to seeing an ad for 'the world's smallest PC' I decided to see how small I could go. This is the second attempt and measures 7" X 7" X 1-3/4" or 178 mm X 178 mm X 44 mm.
The case was cut out of a full-sized AT computer case.
Probably the most important pieces of equipment used for the surgery were ear plugs fashioned from cigarette filters.
About ten minutes of cutting and ten minutes of removing metal slivers from fingers produces four pieces.
Bucking the 'Coke can standard' I've used a dead Pepsi for perspective.
The motherboard is a VIA EPIA M 10000, 1.0GHz (Nehemiah) so it needed some venting over the processor. Some of these holes were measured and some were 'eyed'. Note to self: schedule eye test. There are also four holes for mounting the 40 GB Notebook Harddrive.
