OS VISION 3

The retro-futuristic Linux distribution Commodore OS Vision has just reached version 3.0.

Commodore OS Vision 3.0 is a free, fan-made Linux distro inspired by the look and feel of classic Commodore systems. It reimagines what the legendary computer company might have built in an alternate timeline — complete with pixel-perfect aesthetics, era-appropriate soundscapes, and the modern Linux base of Debian Bookworm.

This is the most game-focused version yet, shipping with over 200 free Linux-compatible games, plus a collection of classic Commodore titles and demoscene gems.

New in this release is Commodore OS BASIC V1 — a modern BASIC interpreter with support for 3D graphics, physics, tilemaps and sprites — alongside a retro-styled Settings Manager for configuring ROMs, startup options and more.

Commodore OS Vision 3.0 is the default operating system of choice for our C64x systems — retro-styled Mini-ITX PCs built into a faithful recreation of the original Commodore 64 keyboard chassis, available pre-built or as components.
